"We want to distinguish ourselves with our extensive fresh market and with a unique selection of catered dishes."

Fresh bread rolls on Sunday, a tasty hot meal after a long working day or the groceries for your household ... You don't have to walk far. You'll find it all at the Delhaize on our site. A neighborhood supermarket with a focus on freshness, quality and satisfied customers. Manager Johan Cannaerts explains.

'My parents started with a small grocery store back in the day. And I myself have been in the business for 42 years. Over the years we have grown from a small supermarket to a supermarket with a Keurslagerij. And in this new story, we want to expand this even more. The quality of Delhaize matches perfectly with our butcher-caterer mentality.'

'You will find here everything you find at the traditional AD Delhaize, but our team wants to distinguish itself with its extensive fresh market and with a unique range of caterer dishes. We will have our own fresh fish department where we cut the fish daily ourselves, a Keurslagerij, fresh charcuterie in service and a department with delicious traiteur dishes. At the latter, our customers can choose ready-made meals. But they also have the option of putting together their own meal from a wide selection of meal components: meat or fish, vegetables and potatoes.'

"Residents and customers of 'Green Valley' and 'Forest Lane' also have the option of picking up their packages at our Delhaize via a Bringme Box.

'From a young age, I was taught to work with only the best products. To give people top quality. That's an important lesson I got from my parents. Our ambition is to set the bar just a little higher than the rest. And that is still true today. For example, my daughter is now taking a butcher's training course so that, in time, she can help monitor the quality in the catering department. It is in fact my children - the third generation - who will run the new Delhaize.

I hail from Heist-op-den-Berg. My parents still live here. And I believe in the region. Heist-op-den-Berg is alive. The community is booming. You can feel it. There's all kinds of things going on. Many chain stores want to be here and a lot of nice new businesses have been added in recent years. But until the realization of Domein de Bos, there were no apartments for sale. So when the opportunity for the subdivision arose, our team did not hesitate for a moment. It was one of the largest building areas so close to the center, so we immediately saw the potential. Creating a high standard of living for residents was at the forefront of our agenda from day one.We want to do more for you than just build a home.

The living of the future keeps us enormously busy. Looking ahead is so important. Our team has put its heart and soul into this project. We studied the living and housing needs of current and future generations. We wanted to attract young people back to this community that has so much beauty to offer. The development of Domein De Bos involved a great deal of thought. In consultation with the municipality, we put a great deal of time into spatial planning and assigning the various functions for each complex.

The different residences and the houses know how to fit harmoniously into their environment. Yet the individuality of each complex also helps define the character of the site. Each complex has its own strengths. So everyone has a home that suits them.

New Hill Side

The first residential unit in Domein De Bos is "New Hillside. With its unique location on the subdivision and exceptional architecture, this residence is leading the way for the appearance of the site. 'New Hillside' consists of two sub-buildings, each with eight apartments including two fantastic penthouses.

There are six one-bedroom apartments in the residence, four of which have private gardens on the ground floor. Ideal for singles or couples without children. The other apartments also have 100% south facing terraces up to 35 m2 with beautiful views of the entire site.

With its clean, contemporary lines, special use of voids and large windows, residence 'Amber Park' immediately catches the eye. The special architecture clearly shows that Mertens Architects wanted to make this building the showpiece of the site. This is also reflected in the spaciousness and luxurious finish of the apartments. The diagonal ridge of the building with its special axis also testifies to a strong piece of craftsmanship. Mertens Architects took its inspiration from the prestigious 'Krøyer Square' in Copenhagen, designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects & Cobe Architects.
